Assault
St. Thomas police are currently investigating an assault that occurred on Wednesday October 31st, 2023. Just after 6 a.m. police were called to an address in the center of the city for the report of an individual with a head wound. Upon arrival, the victim was in the care of EMS and was being transported to hospital for the injuries. Through investigation, police learned a disturbance had a occurred resulting in the victim being assaulted with an unknown weapon. This remains under investigation. ST23019193
Assault with a weapon
Three London youth have been charged. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, just before 8:30 p.m. St. Thomas police were called to a convenience store in the center of the city to investigate a disturbance in which an individual had been assaulted. Upon arrival and through investigation, it was learned the three youth had entered the store and were being rowdy. The youth were observed on camera stealing various items. The three youth then made there way outside where they were followed by the victim who was then assaulted and sprayed with bear spray. As a result, a 15 year old London resident was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon. The youth was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court. A 14 and 15 year old youth have also been charged with the same offense are currently wanted by our service. ST23019232
Arrested
A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, STPS were contacted by London Police Service who had the 34 year old in their custody on the strength of our warrant. St. Thomas police attended London to execute our warrant for Theft under $5,000 stemming from an incident in March of 2023. The St. Thomas resident was processed and release with a future court date. A 41 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 stemming from an incident last week. The 41 year old was processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23019197
A 48 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 and Traffic in Credit Card stemming from an incident in August 2023. The 48 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23019239
A 50 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after a disturbance in the city, early this morning. Just after 1 a.m. police were called to a Talbot Street address to investigate the report of an object being thrown through a window. Upon arrival, officers learned the accused had thrown a propane tank through the window at a neighbouring address. The St. Thomas resident was arrested and charged with one count Mischief under $5,000 and transported to police headquarters to be processed. Break and Enter
St. Thomas Police are currently investigating a break and enter. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, St. Thomas police were contacted by a homeowner in the center of the city who wish to report a break and enter to their locked, detached shed. Reported stolen was a power washer valued at $800. The suspect was seen by the homeowner and other witnesses in the area towing the power washer down the street, a short distance away. The victim located the suspect and was allegedly threatened with a knife when trying to question the individual. STPS continue to gather statements and review video surveillance of the incident. Theft
Two bikes that had been reported stolen have been returned to their rightful owner. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, St. Thomas police were called to an address in the center of the city after a homeowner reports their home security cameras captured an unknown person entering an enclosed gazebo in their backyard and stealing the bikes. The bikes were later located by police and returned to the owner. ST23019207
A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, officers on community patrol observed the individual enter an address on the southside of the city, leaving shortly after with a bike. The 32 year old was arrested and charged with Theft under $5,000 and transported to police headquarters to be processed. The St. Thomas resident was later released with a future court date. St. Thomas police are currently investigating a gas drive off from a gas station on Highbury Avenue. On Wednesday October 31st 2023, STPS were called by employees of the business who wish to report that just after 5 p.m. the day before, an unknown person in a black GMC pickup truck pumped $141 of fuel and left the area without paying. The vehicle’s license plate wasn’t captured. Police are looking to identify the individual in the photos below.
