Threats 

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 5th 2024 while on an unrelated call for service, officers encountered the individual who refused to leave the area and proceeded to threaten officers and neighbouring bystanders. As a result, the 34 year old was arrested and charged with two counts of Utter Threats to Damage Property. The individual was transported to police headquarters to be processed. While being processed, officers were made aware of several release and probation orders the 34 year old was to be adhering to. Additional charges of four count of Failure to Comply with Probation, two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon and two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order were laid. The St. Thomas resident was transferred to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance and was subsequently remanded into custody. ST24009351

Warrant Arrests

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 5th 2024, STPS were called in regards to an unwanted individual at a west end address. Police attended and located the 38 year old, known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24009352

A 41 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 5th 2024, St. Thomas police were notified by London police that they had the individual in their custody on the strength of a warrant held by our service for Assault with a Weapon and Utter Threats in relation to an incident that occurred in August of 2023. Officers attended London and transported the individual to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance where they answered to the charges and were released by the courts. ST24009353

Prohibited Driver 

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged with several offences as a result of a traffic stop in the city overnight. Through investigation, officers learned the driver was a suspended driver who had provided a false name and expired documentation. As a result, the 40 year old was charged with one count of Obstruct Peace Officer, two counts of Operation while Prohibited, one count of Driving while Under Suspension and four Highway Traffic Violations. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released an on undertaking with a future court date. ST24009416

Vehicle Entry 

Approximately $60 of property has been reported stolen from a vehicle. On Wednesday June 5th 2024, officers were called to investigate a vehicle entry that occurred sometime in the overnight hours at an address downtown. Video surveillance of the incident was captured and is being reviewed by police. ST24009346
