Warrant arrests

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for four counts of Theft Under $5000 and two counts of Failure to Comply with Undertaking in relation to several shopping lifting incidents from earlier this year. The individual was transported to police headquarters were they were processed, attended court and were released by the courts. ST24010308

A 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding probation warrant for breaching their conditional sentence. The individual was processed and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse where they were remanded into custody. ST24010338

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 stemming from a shoplifting incident in May. The individual was processed and released with a future court date. ST24010356

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, officers were dealing with the individual at an unrelated call for service when they became aware of an outstanding probation warrant. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24010366

Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a gas drive off from a north end gas station. Through investigation police learned an unknown individual attended the gas station and pumped a total of $57 in fuel before leaving the area without paying. This remains under investigation. ST24010324

A blue EMMO electric moped valued at approximately $2,000 has been reported stolen to police. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, police were contacted by a resident on the northside of the city who wished to report a fence at the back of their property had been cut and the moped removed. STPS continue to investigate. ST24010351

St. Thomas police are investigating a shoplifting incident that occurred at retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, officers were called to investigate the report of an unknown person shopping for various items throughout the store and only paying for one of the items. Video surveillance of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST24010368

Vehicle Entry 

A large hockey bag has been reported stolen from a vehicle on the northside of the city. STPS were contacted by the vehicle owner who wished to report their vehicle had been entered and the bag, stolen. The hockey equipment in the bag was left in the vehicle. ST24010309

Mischief 

Damage to several properties in a new, southeast residential subdivision has been reported to police. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, STPS were called by the developer of the properties who wished to report the lines to the lawn sprinkler system had been cut. No other damage was reported. ST24010321

Failure to Comply 

A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged. On Wednesday June 19th 2024, police were made aware of the individual attending an address they are on conditions to not attend, as per their current release conditions. As a result, the 30 year old has been charged with one count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24010378
