Media Release Thursday June 13th 2024

Fail to Stop 

In the early morning hours of June 13th 2024, St. Thomas police were alerted by London police of possible impaired driver who had left the city of London and had enter St. Thomas. STPS were able to locate the vehicle involved and attempted to stop the vehicle by activating emergency lights and sirens. The vehicle was followed for a short distance however the driver failed to stop for police. Due to public safety concerns police stopped following when it became apparent the drive would not stop. Police are making every attempt to identify the driver and continue to investigate. ST24009896

Warrant Arrests

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 12th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible in a shoplifting incident over the weekend. The 37 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24009825

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 12th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted an outstanding warrant with our service for Possession of a Scheduled 1 Substance, Impaired Operation and Failure to Comply with Release Order. The 35 year old was transported to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance and were remanded into custody. ST24009854

A 20 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 12th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Assault, Mischief and Failure to Comply with Probation in regard to an incident in February. The individual was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24009874

A 32 year old London resident has been arrested. On Wednesday June 12th 2024, St. Thomas police were contacted by Strathroy police who had the individual in their custody on the strength of our warrant for Possession of a Scheduled 1 Substance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Theft under $5,000 after an incident in our city in May. Strathroy police transported the individual to STPS HQ where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24009893
