Intimate Partner Violence 

A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to investigate the report of an assault. On Wednesday February 5th 2025, STPS were called by the victim who wished to report that a verbal argument between them and their partner had escalated, resulting in a physical assault. The 28 year old accused was charged with one count of Assault and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25002058

Intimate Partner Violence – Resist Arrest

A 45 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were to called to a disturbance, last night. Just before midnight, STPS received a call from a concerned neighbour who wanted police to check on the wellbeing of an individual after hearing an argument. Officers attended the address provided and spoke with the parties involved. Through investigation, officers learned a verbal argument between spouses had escalated, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted by their partner. When the accused was informed that they were being charged with Assault, they became actively resistant and combative. Officers effectively took custody of the individual who has been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

The 45 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25002094
