Mischief
St. Thomas police are currently investigating significant damage to a vehicle. On Wednesday November 29th 2023, officers were called to a northside neighbourhood by the vehicle owner who wish to report that a vehicle parked in the laneway of their home had been damaged. The owner reported all 4 tires had been slashed, a mirror broken and the hood, keyed. Police are currently reviewing available video surveillance of the incident. This remains under investigation. Assault police
A 17 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday November 29th 2023, officers were called to an address on the southside of the city by the 17 year old who was seeking police assistance. Upon police arrival, the accused approached the attending officers and physically assaulted one of the officers. As a result, the 17 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count Assault a Peace Officer. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23021079

In an ongoing effort to help protect the residents of St. Thomas from falling victim to online scams and fraud, the St. Thomas Police Service would like to remind the community on ways to protect yourself and things to consider while online:
- Always get a second opinion from family or friends regarding the situation
- No employer will reach out to you through apps like Whats App or Telegram
- No employer will ever pay you in crypto currency
- No employer will ask you to invest your own money
- Use the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre as a resource to familiarize yourself with current scams and additional ways to protect yourself
