Media Release Friday February 17th 2023

Shoplifter Arrested 

On Thursday February 16th, 2023 just before 3 PM St. Thomas Police were called to a local retail store on Talbot Street in relation to a shoplifter. Staff report approximately $179 of merchandise had been stolen by a male wearing a black zipper hoodie, blue jeans, brown shoes, and wearing a toque. The male left the store with no attempt to pay.

After reviewing video surveillance, STPS were able to identify a 34 year old St. Thomas man. He was located a short distance away with the merchandise on him. He was arrested and charged with 1 count, Theft under $5000 processed without incident and released. ST23002548

Bike Theft 

On Thursday February 16th, 2023 St. Thomas Police took a report of a stolen bicycle. Sometime overnight a bicycle that had been locked to a bike rack at Parkside Collegiate Institute had been stolen. The bicycle is yellow Dynacraft 24″. Anyone with information is asked to contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers ST23002570

Vehicle Entry – Arrest Made

On Thursday February 16th, 2023 St. Thomas Police were called to a vehicle entry and theft in the north end of the City. Upon Police arrival, a suspect was located and identified. A 44 year old London male has been charged with 1 count of Theft under $5000 and 1 count of Fail to Comply with Probation. He was processed without incident and released with a future court date.
