Warrant Arrests

On Friday morning, a 17-year-old youth turned themselves in on a first instance warrant following an intimate partner violence investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigations Branch. The youth is charged with two counts of Assault and two counts of breaching conditions of a previous release. They were later released by the court on conditions. ST24021230

Later Friday morning, a 36-year-old St. Thomas man turned himself in on a warrant for breaching his probation. The male was later released by the court with a future court date. ST24021233

Child Abuse

On Friday morning an 11-year-old child reported to their school that they had been assaulted by their father the previous night. The child sustained minor injuries. Family and Children Services informed the STPS of the incident and the Criminal Investigations Branch assumed the investigation. The child’s father has since been arrested and charged with one count of Assault. He was released on an Undertaking with conditions to protect the victim. ST24021239

Theft of Package from Doorstep

A residence in the city had two packages stolen from their front step in the past week. The first package was stolen on November 16th and contained two Apple iPads. The second package was stolen on November 18th and contained a 4-pack of Apple air tags. With the holiday season upon us, the STPS reminds you to monitor all expected deliveries and when possible, have someone home to receive the item. If you see something suspicious, please report it. Assault

A 26-year-old London man has been arrested following an incident at his work place where he is alleged to have assaulted a co-worker. The victim sustained minor injuries. The accused turned himself in and has been released on an Undertaking with conditions. ST24021246

Recovered Stolen Motorcycle

On Friday afternoon police received information about an abandoned motorcycle on a property on the edge of the City. Police located the motorcycle and a query revealed it had been reported stolen in May of this year. Police are investigating the circumstances of the theft and recovery of the vehicle. ST24021254

Theft from Vehicle

Several tools were stolen from an unlocked work van on Thursday night. The vehicle had been parked at a business in the industrial zone. CCTV footage captured the suspect on the property just before 5am. Police are reviewing the video footage in attempts of identifying the suspect. ST24021259

Impaired Driver Arrested

A 23-year-old Belmont man has been arrested for impaired driving. The male attended the McDonalds at approximately 3:30am and rear-ended another vehicle in the drive-through. Staff alerted police who were in the area for an unrelated incident. Police formed reasonable grounds to believe he was impaired by alcohol and took the male into custody without incident. He was transported to police headquarters where he provided suitable samples of his breath that indicated he was driving with 2.5 times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. The male’s vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his driver’s licence automatically suspended for 90 days. The male was later released with a future court date. ST24021290
