Warrant Arrests
A 29-year-old male was arrested by members of the Community Resource Unit (CRU) Friday afternoon. CRU observed the male in the downtown core and knew the male was wanted on the strength of a first instance warrant for Fail to Comply with Probation. The male was arrested without incident and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was later released with a future court date. ST25004203.
A 34-year-old male was also arrested on the strength of a probation warrant Friday afternoon. The male was arrested by front-line patrol officers and released with a future court date. ST25004208.
A 54-year-old female was arrested Friday evening on the strength of a first instance warrant for Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation. The charges are in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred earlier in the week at a local grocery store. Officers observed the female at an address near the downtown core and knew her to have an outstanding warrant. The female was taken into custody without incident and released with a future court date. ST25004219
Break and Enter
Copper grounding wire has been stolen from an industrial property in the west end of the city. The suspect(s) cut the padlock of a gate to access the fenced compound sometime between March 7th and March 14th. Once inside the compound, underground copper wiring from the main building to outbuildings was dug up and stolen. Shoplift
A male suspect fled in a vehicle after stealing $300-$400 worth of product from a local grocery store. The incident occurred Friday evening and was captured on the store’s CCTV system. Video is being reviewed in an effort to identify the suspect and vehicle. ST25004223.
Warrant Arrest and Weapons Charge
A 42-year-old male was arrested Friday evening on the strength of first instance warrant for Theft Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Probation, and Breach of Recognizance. Police located the male after attending an area near the downtown core for reports of a heated dispute between three parties. A search incident to arrest of the male revealed he was in possession of ‘monkey knuckles’, a weapon similar to brass knuckles. The male is bound by conditions not to possess weapons and was additionally charged with Breach of Recognizance. ST25004228/ ST25004231.
