Bail Violations

On the morning of Friday June 7th, police attended a St. Thomas address to serve a summons to a male party bound by conditions of a court release to reside at that address. The intended recipient was not there and police were informed that he had moved out of the residence three months prior. As a result of the breach, police formed reasonable grounds to charge the 55-year-old male with Fail to Comply with Release Order. Police located that male later in the day and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to police headquarters where he was held in custody and later released by the court. Warrant Arrest

On Friday afternoon, a 29-year-old female from outside of St. Thomas attended police headquarters to turn herself in on a domestic-related assault charge stemming from an incident that occurred on June 3rd in the City. The female was arrested without incident and was later released with a future court date. ST24009261

Mischief to Vehicle

Sometime between 11pm on June 6th and 5am on June 7th, an unknown person damaged the windows to a vehicle parked in the driveway of a south-end residence. The damage consisted of punctures that caused cracking across the front driver’s side and passenger’s side windows. Assault/ Mischief

On Friday evening an 18-year-old St. Thomas male turned himself in on reasonable grounds for Assault and Mischief. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred in Port Stanley earlier in the week. The male was processed in cells and later released with a future court date. ST24009553.

Assault (Youth)

A 17-year-old St. Thomas youth was arrested Friday night at the St. Anne’s Festival. The youth instigated a physical altercation with a stranger and punched the festival-goer several times in the head. Police were alerted to the incident and when attempting to speak to the involved youth, the youth ran from police. After a short foot pursuit, the youth was taken into custody. The youth was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and later released on an Undertaking to an adult family member. ST24009567.

Assault Police

Later in the evening on Friday, the Elgin OPP requested the assistance of the STPS with conducting the breath tests for a male party in their custody for impaired driving. The male was brought to STPS headquarters for the test. The male became irate during the breath tests and grabbed onto the arm of the Officer in Charge, instigating a physical altercation. Police re-gained control quickly. As a result, the 25-year-old male was charged with Assault Peace Officer and issued an Appearance Notice with a future court date. The male remained uncooperative and refused to complete the breath tests in relation to the impaired driving investigation. The male was turned over to Elgin OPP to continue their impaired/ refusal investigation. ST24009570.
