Mischief

Broken windows were discovered at a church near the downtown yesterday morning. Officers attended and cleared the building to make sure no one was inside. Nothing is believed to be stolen and there is no evidence to suggest the suspect(s) actually entered the church. ST24023102

Shoplift

Shortly after 10am on Tuesday an unknown male entered a business in the 1000 block of Talbot St and stole a black and yellow painter’s backpack valued at $146. Police are reviewing camera footage in the area to identify the suspect. ST24023013

Warrant Arrests

On Tuesday evening while responding to an unrelated call for service, officers located a 36-year-old St. Thomas man who was wanted on an outstanding first instance warrant for Assault, Utter Threats to Cause Death, and Fail to Comply with Probation. The male was arrested without incident and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released on an Undertaking with conditions. ST24023127

At approximately 11:30pm, police were called to an area in the north end of the city for reports of two suspicious males looking into vehicles. Police located the males in question and learned that one of the males was wanted on a first instance warrant for Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation x 2. The 29-year-old male was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was later released with a future court date. ST24023142

Shortly after midnight on Christmas Day, the Elgin OPP notified the STPS that they had arrested a 72-year-old male on the strength of a warrant held by our service. The male was wanted on a first instance warrant for Fail to Comply with Probation. Elgin OPP transported the male to STPS headquarters where he was processed and later released with a future court date. ST24023143

R.I.D.E

During the early hours on Christmas Day, officers conducted a R.I.D.E program in the city. The STPS is pleased to report that all motorists stopped were sober. Thank you for keeping our community safe this holiday season. ST24023147
