Media release – 15th of September 2024

Break and Enter x2:

On the morning of Saturday the 14th of September Police were called to an apartment building located in the south end of the city regarding a break and enter. The resident advised that at some time between the day prior and the time of call unknown suspect(s) had forced entry into both the apartment and a camping trailer stored in the parking lot of the building. The resident reported three bicycles as being stolen – a white Trek BMX style bicycle with a gold chain, an Orange Sundae BMX style bike, and a motor-assisted Wild Goose with fat tires.  If you, or anyone you know, has any information related to this matter please contact the St Thomas Police Service or visit www.stthomascrimestoppers.ca and reference Incident ST24016512.

On Saturday afternoon Police were contacted to attend Athletic Park in the north end of the city for a break and enter to the concession building. An exterior door had a lock tampered with and entry was gained. Once inside the other locked rooms were accessed through the false ceiling and through drywall. Taken at this time are a  AED defibrillator and cash. Shoplift:

On Saturday evening Police were called to attend an east end business for reports of a male shoplifter that had been in the store and left prior to loss prevention calling Police. The male left without paying for merchandise and was identified by officers attending via reviewing surveillance video. A warrant is being sought for the arrest of the 39-year-old St Thomas resident, charged theft under $5000.00. Incident ST24016550.

Family Dispute:

In the early morning hours on Sunday the 15th of September Police attended a south end residence for reports of a family dispute in progress. The resident had asked an intoxicated family member to leave their home and an argument ensued. Police attended and located the subject of the complaint, a 29-year-old male, inside the residence and he was arrested to prevent a continuation of the breach of the peace. The male was transported to cells and later taken to the hospital and released due to pre-existing medical concerns and alcohol consumption. Incident ST24016575.
