Assault, Break and Enter Arrest, Motor Vehicle Collision

Arrest/Breach

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident attended the station to turn himself in after breaching his conditions to not communicate with an ex-partner. The individual was arrested at headquarters, processed and released with a future court date. ST24007928

Mischief

A vehicle parked in a laneway, in the city’s west end was damaged sometime overnight. The owner reports both rear tires slashed, writing in black marker down the side, as well as scratches to the paint. CCTV is being reviewed, and the incident is still under investigation. ST24007932

Theft of Motor Vehicle

Thursday, May 16th, 2024, St. Thomas police were called to a south end residence, for a report of a stolen vehicle. Sometime overnight a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado silver/grey in colour, was stolen out of the complainants laneway. The incident is still under investigation. ST24007945

Break and Enter Arrest

St. Thomas police arrest two youths as a result of a break and enter investigation reported on the 13th of May, 2024. The incident took place at a local high school where the two youths observed on camera, breaking into the schools concession booth. Both youths charged with Break and Enter, attended the St. Thomas Police Station, where they were arrested, and released with a future court date. ST24007694

Theft

Thursday, May 16th, 2024 Police attended an east end business for a theft report. An unknown suspect purchased select items, but failed to pay for the spices and fish that were concealed. Video of the incident was obtained and is still under investigation. ST24007958

Assault

On Thursday May 16th, 2024,Police were called to a west end business for a report of a belligerent and aggressive individual. The individual began yelling at staff members, then escalated, assaulting one staff member with a mobility scooter. As a result of the investigation, a 47 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Assault with a weapon, a warrant is requested. ST24007930

Motor Vehicle Collision

Police respond to multiple 9-1-1 calls to the city’s north end, when a vehicle drove into the front of a restaurant. Driver of the vehicle, accidentally accelerated instead of braking, driving up over the curb, into the front window, and inside of the restaurant. Driver was uninjured. A 63 year old customer was transported to Elgin General Hospital sustaining minor injuries. ST24007968
