Elgin Street Search Warrant Yields Weapons and Drugs

St. Thomas, ON Tuesday March 11th 2025 

A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after an ongoing investigation.

The investigation, which began in the first quarter of 2025 concluded yesterday, with the arrest of the accused and a search of an address on Elgin Street.

On Monday March 10th, members of the STPS Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) arrested the 30 year old near Centre Street.

A search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of:

  • Brass knuckles
  • Coyote spray
  • A functioning digital scale
  • Clear plastic dime bags

Following the arrest, members of the STPS Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the Elgin Street address, where officers seized:

  • Two flick knives
  • 54 methylphenidate capsules (10 mg)
  • 14 lisdexamfetamine capsules (40 mg)
  • Six hydromorphone tablets (4 mg)
  • Two rounds of Winchester .308 ammunition

As a result, the 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with:

  • Three counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • One count of possession of a Schedule I substance

The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date.
