Mischief
A 46 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a Talbot Street address, Wednesday afternoon. Officers attended a business in the 500 block of Talbot Street to investigate the report of an unknown individual attending the address and causing damage inside, before leaving the area. Police reviewed CCTV of the incident and identified the individual responsible. The 46 year old was located and charged with one count of Mischief and transported to police headquarters. While being processed, officers were made aware of the individual being in possession of property reported stolen in an unrelated incident. As a result, the 46 year old was additionally charged with Possession of Property obtained by Crime. They were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25003153/3159
Break and Enter Arrest
A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested following a break and enter investigation. The individual has been charged with Trafficking in Stolen Goods after being identified as one of the individuals responsible in an ongoing break and enter investigation. On Wednesday February 26th 2025, the individual was located and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25003162/2537
Warrant Arrests
A 36 year old Toronto resident has been arrested. On Wednesday February 26th 2025, at a virtual court appearance at the Elgin County Court House, the individual was processed on the charges of Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation in relation to an incident in 2022. The 36 year old remains in custody on unrelated charges. ST25003140
A 31 year old Hamilton resident has been arrested. On Wednesday February 26th 2025, officers at the Elgin County Court House were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter, when they were made aware of an outstanding warrant for Fraud over $5000 in relation to an investigation from earlier this month. The 31 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST25003146
Prohibited Driver
A 70 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested as the result of a traffic stop, Wednesday afternoon. Officers on community patrol stopped the vehicle after observing the license plates of the vehicle to not match. Through investigation, police learned the individual was prohibited from driving. As a result, they were charged with Operation while Prohibited, Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle and Fail to Provide Insurance. The vehicle was towed and the individual was released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25003152
Theft
A 35 year old Springfield resident has been charged with Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible for the theft of approximately $80 of merchandise from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday February 26th 2025, officers were called to the store to review video of the incident which showed the 35 year old leaving store with the items they failed to pay for. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25003173
