Recovered Stolen Vehicle
A U Haul reported stolen from a retailer on Elm Street has been recovered by Chatham-Kent Police. On Tuesday October 22nd 2024, St. Thomas police were contact by CKPS who had located the vehicle reported stolen in overnight hours from the Elm Street address. This remains under investigation. Assault
A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged after a physical altercation was reported to police. On Tuesday October 22nd 2024, the victim attended police headquarters to report a person known to them had approached them while in their vehicle and physically assaulted them. Through investigation, officers have charged a 33 year old with Assault. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24011919
Failure to Comply
A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. While dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter, officers became aware of the individual residing at an address they are on conditions to not attend. As a result, the 40 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order, processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST240119224
Mischief
St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of a car being damaged while parked in the 700 block of Talbot Street. On Tuesday October 22nd 2024, police were called by the vehicle owner who wished to report that while they were at a downtown retailer, their vehicle had been keyed, causing significant damage. Police are reviewing available CCTV in the area as they continue to investigate. ST240119195
RIDE
St. Thomas police are pleased to announce that of vehicles that were stopped and their drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city last night, no infractions or concerns were reported. STPS wishes to thank the community for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST24019240
