Warrant Arrests

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 9th 2024, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 stemming from an incident last week. The 33 year old was processed through the courts and released with a new court date. ST24011688/1186

A 50 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 9th 2024, officers were called to an address on Talbot Street for an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located the 50 year old who was known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service stemming from an incident in April of 2024, where they were charged with False Alarm of Fire. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24011695/ST24006006

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday July 10th 2024, STPS were contacted by OPP who had the individual in custody on the strength of our warrant stemming from an incident in March, where the individual was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Drive Motor Vehicle – No License. The 33 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24011727/ST24002297

Theft

A black Raleigh mountain bike, valued at $800 has been reported stolen. On Tuesday July 9th 2024, the owner of the bike contacted police to report that at approximately 11:00 a.m. they had secured their bike to a bike rack in the 400 block of Talbot Street. The owner returned to the area a short time later to witness an unknown individual riding away from the area on their bike. This remains under investigation. ST24011698
