Warrant

Twenty nine year old Justin Dobson of St. Thomas was arrested Saturday on Talbot Street.  Officers on Community Patrol recognized him as being wanted on a probation warrant.  The warrant was issued after he was alleged to have breached his court ordered release conditions.  He was taken into custody without incident for processing and later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^14103

Warrant

Twenty year old Matthew Peters of no fixed address was arrested Sunday on Talbot Street.  Officers on Community Patrol were dealing with him on an unrelated matter when they discovered he was wanted by Police.  Peters was identified as the suspect recorded on security video stealing a backpack from another man as he slept outside.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with Theft Under $5000 and later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^13666

Warrant

A thirty four year old man of no fixed address wanted on a warrant by STPS was arrested in London Monday by London Police.  Officers were dealing with the man on an unrelated matter when they discovered he was wanted.  The bench warrant was issued after the man failed to attend his scheduled court date to answer to charges of drug possession and being unlawfully in a dwelling.  He was taken into custody for processing and later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^14221

Theft

Police are investigating after gas was stolen from the Petro Canada Station on Highbury Ave Sunday.  A male driving a grey Honda CRV was recorded on security video pumping gas and driving away making no attempt to pay.  Officers investigating the incident discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from Oxford County.  The man driving was described as wearing blue jeans and a red sweater.  If you have any information about this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or submit a tip online at www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST220140226

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere

Officers on Community Patrol conducted a RIDE check Monday.  Over four hundred drivers were stopped and spoken to.  Two drivers were administered a roadside screening for alcohol and one driver was administered a standard field sobriety test. All three drivers passed and no infractions were found. ^14236

Dangerous Driving

A sixteen year old is wanted on a warrant for dangerous driving after Officers on Community Patrol observed the youth driving an unplated vehicle at a high rate of speed.  Officers were able to identify the driver and issued a warrant for his arrest.  ^14244

Arrest

Twenty five year old Tharen Stover of no fixed address was arrested Monday night.  Officers on Community Patrol were responding to a shoplifting complaint where Stover was the accused and a female witness called police while following him down the street.   Stover turned around and attacked the woman throwing her to the ground stealing her cell phone and purse.  Police arrived and took Stover into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 and one count Robbery.  He was held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^14250

Breach

A thirty six year old man and forty year old woman both of no fixed address were arrested Monday night after Officers on Community Patrol were called to a disturbance in a downtown park. Police discovered the pair breaching their court ordered release conditions prohibiting the two from communicating or associating.  The were both taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  They were each charged with Breach of Probation and later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^14254/14252
