Fail to Stop for School Bus
A forty four year old Sparta woman was charged with failing to stop for a school bus Monday morning on Elm Street. The STPS Traffic Management Unit was monitoring the area when they witnessed the infraction. The fine for failing to stop for a school bus is $490 and six demerit points. ^18850
Fraud
Police are investigating after thirty thousand dollars went missing from the bank account of a St. Thomas man. The incident involved an online bitcoin trading site that eventually gained access to the man’s account after he sent in his information to cash in on his investment. Protect yourself and your money. Police are investigating after a galvanized steel gate was stolen from Pinafore Park. The gate was located near the back of the park by the bandshell. Found Bike
Police have located an abandoned mountain bike that has been repainted silver. The frame is same or similar to a Sport Tech mountain bike. The bike was left on Balaclava Street. Please contact our property office if this bike belongs to you. 519-631-1224 ext #4321
Theft
Police are investigating after two men stole a bike from the Canadian Tire Store Monday. The pair entered the store, selected the bike and fled using an emergency exit. Assault
Two teens were arrested Monday night after police attended a disturbance at a residence. One teen is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Device (flick knife), Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Trespass by Night. A second youth was charged with Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Trespass by Night. No injuries were reported. The two were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing. Both were released on Undertakings and will appear in court to answer to the charges at a later date. ^18896
