Vehicle Entries

Sometime between August 8th at 1:00 pm and August 10th at 6:00 pm a vehicle on Elysian St. was entered by unknown suspect(s).  Missing from the vehicle is a pair of “Costa” prescription sunglasses, the insurance slip and half a pack of  “Matinee” cigarettes.  Anyone with information is asked to call STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.  Refer to case ST20013335.

Sometime between August 9th at 11:00 pm and August 10th at 7:00 am unknown person(s) entered a vehicle parked at a residence on Scott St.  Stolen from the car was a purse and a pair of prescription sunglasses.  Anyone with information is asked to call STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.  Refer to case ST20013296.

Thefts

On August 10th police were called to a residence on Moore St. regarding the theft of a unique lawn chair.  The chair is very heavy and made out of metal. It is painted brown and has straight posts that serve as the back rest.  The chair has sentimental value to the elderly owner.   Anyone with information is asked to call STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.  Refer to case ST20013313

On August 9th at 7:15 pm a male entered a store at 1063 Talbot St.  Once inside the male selected a “Night Owl” security system.  The suspect removed the security tag from the box and exited the store, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise.  The entire incident was  captured on video surveillance and reviewed by  loss prevention on August 10th.  Police were notified at approximately 12:30 pm.  The suspect was known to police and identified as a 37 year old St. Thomas man.  The man was also on probation and the theft was in breach of the order.  An arrest warrant is being sought by police for the offences of Theft Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation.  The security system is valued at $350.00 and has not been recovered.

A 21 speed “Raleigh Tera” mountain bike was stolen from the rear of the plaza at 534 Elm St. on August 8th around 10:00 pm.  The bike belonged to a staff member who was working at the time. Police were called to a convenience store in the same plaza on August 10th at approximately 10:00 pm.  A teen aged male parked his bike at the rear of the store.  When he left the store a short time later his bike was gone.  STPS are looking to reunite the youth with his bike.  It is described as an orange “MX29 Orbea” 21 speed mountain bike.  It has aftermarket handlebars and pedals that are bright blue in colour.  Anyone with information is asked to call STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.  Refer to case ST20013350.

Breach

An arrest warrant is being sought for a 37 year old St. Thomas man after he breached conditions of his probation order.  On the night of  August 10th the man was seen on the roof of an apartment building on Talbot St.  The man was talking to a woman who was standing at the window of her apartment.  The man was on probation with a condition not to be within 10 metres of the woman who is known to him.  He will be charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation.

On August 11th police received a report of a woman failing to comply with a court order.  The complainant reports several unwanted texts from the woman. She is on conditions not to associate with the complainant.  A 27 year old St. Thomas woman is to be charged with 1 count of Failing to Comply with her court imposed order.
