Theft

A forty nine year old St. Thomas man is wanted after he was identified as the suspect recorded on store security video walking out of Walmart with a cart full of stolen merchandise.  Approximately $1,400 worth of items were taken from the store.  He was recorded twice on two different days shoplifting from Walmart.  As a result he is now wanted for two counts of Theft Under $5000. ^16872

Scam Alert

A St. Thomas woman was scammed out of $4200 in a fake credit card security check type of fraud.  The woman received a phone call from a person claiming to be with PC Financial Security.  The person then engaged in a conversation which led to the woman providing her personal details to access the credit card.  While on the phone two separate transactions were completed with the third not going through due it exceeding her credit limit.  The woman contacted police after suspecting she had just fallen victim to a scam.  Please protect yourself and your money. Assault

A thirty five year old St. Thomas man was arrested Tuesday after he was alleged to have assaulted his common law partner during an argument.  The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with two counts of Assault Cause Bodily Harm and held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^16949

Break and Enter

Thirty three year old Brandon Burch of no fixed address was arrested Tuesday morning after staff at the Railway Museum on Wellington Street observed him breaking into the building.   Officers on Community Patrol located him a short distance away and took him into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with one count Break and Enter and one count Breach of Probation.  He was later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^16952

Break and Enter

Catalytic Converter Stolen

Warrant

Nineteen year old Nicholas Derbowka of no fixed address was arrested Tuesday after he turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Building.  Derbowka was wanted on a warrant after he was identified as the suspect wanted in connection to a theft.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with Theft Under $5000 and three counts Breach of Probation.  He was later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^16956

Break and Enter

Police are investigating after the Tru for U Health and Wellness Centre on Talbot Street was broken into Monday night.  The initial stages of the investigation indicate that two males pried open the back door around 10 pm.  One male entered taking cash from a register and the two then fled the area.  One male is described as wearing a dark jacket with white logo on the chest, black pants and black face mask.  The second male is described as wearing a dark coat, grey hoodie underneath, grey sweat pants and orange toque.  If you have any information about this break and enter or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22016963

Assault

A thirty three year old St. Thomas man was arrested Tuesday after he was alleged to have assaulted his common law partner and child during arguments throughout the last year.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with three counts of Assault and one count Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.  He was later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^16692

Porch Pirate

Wanted

Thirty eight year old James Carroll of no fixed address is wanted by police after he was identified as the suspect recorded on store security video using a stolen credit card to make purchases.  He is wanted for Breach of Proabation x5, Unauthorized Use of Credit Card x2 and Possession of Stolen Property.  A warrant is being sought for his arrest. ^16833

Assault

A seventeen year old St. Thomas youth was arrested Tuesday.  Officers were dealing with the teen on an unrelated matter when they discovered the youth was wanted on a warrant.  The warrant was issued after the youth was identified as the suspect wanted in connection to an assault on Princess Avenue.  The youth was taken into custody without incident for processing and held for a bail court appearance. ^16989

Mischief

Police are investigating after two men were seen destroying a community library box located on the Whistle Stop Trail near Wellington Street.  The suspects are described as being in their 20’s.  One male was on a bike wearing a camo jacket and the other was on a scooter.  ^16992

Assault

A forty three year old Shedden man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he allegedly assaulted a cab driver during an argument as he was being driven home.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with one count of Assault and released on an Undertaking with court date.  Alcohol was a factor. ^16997
