STPS Media Release – Sunday, November 20th, 2022.

On 19Nov/22 at approximately 6:30am St. Thomas Police officers attended a residence regarding a domestic dispute. Through further investigation a 27-year-old London male has been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, assault, sexual assault, theft and criminal harassment. This male was held in police custody and later released by the court system with conditions and a future court date.

On 19Nov/22 at approximately 10am St. Thomas Police officers attended a residence on Ambleside Drive regarding a theft from a vehicle overnight. Stolen from the vehicle were some hunting items. Ref# ST22018767.

On 19Nov/22 at approximately 6:30pm St. Thomas Police officers responded to the east end of the city regarding information from a citizen about an alleged impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and the 63-year-old St. Thomas driver was arrested and charged with impaired operation by alcohol having blood alcohol readings of 170/180. This male was later released with a license suspension and future court date.

On 19Nov/22 at approximately 7:15pm, the victims family parked their car in the downtown area to watch the Santa Claus parade. During this time, the accused 38-year-old James Carroll entered their vehicle and stole personal items including the victims credit card. The accused used the credit card at a nearby variety store where he was positively identified on video. The accused is already on a probation order and release order through the court system. This male is now wanted for the additional charges of fraudulent use of a credit card x 2, failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with a release order. Ref# ST22018794.

On 19Nov/22 at approximately 2am, St. Thomas Police officers responded to a complaint from Red Line Taxi Services regarding a customer using a counterfeit twenty dollar bill. Through further investigation, a 57-year-old St. Thomas male was arrested for uttering counterfeit money and a search of his clothing revealed additional counterfeit bills. Therefore the male was charged with uttering counterfeit money and possession of counterfeit money. This male was released with a future court date.
