R.I.D.E / Arrest

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere

Officers from the St. Thomas Police Service conducted a RIDE check last night on the north end of the city around 9 pm.  Just under one hundred drivers were spoken to by police and no infractions were found.  STPS are committed to road safety especially during the festive RIDE season.  Please drive carefully and be prepared to stop if you are approaching a RIDE check point.

A twenty two year old St. Thomas woman was arrested last night and charged two counts breach of release conditions just before midnight on First Avenue.  Police were responding to a disturbance at a residence when they located the woman standing out front.  Officers recognized the woman as being currently at large in the community released on several court ordered conditions specifically to obey a curfew and keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  The woman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing and later released on a Promise to Appear in court.
