Porch Pirate

Police are investigating after a parcel was stolen off the front porch of a home on Pine Valley Drive near Ambleside back on Monday October 3rd.  According to UPS records the parcel was dropped off around 1:50 pm.  The package was stolen sometime between delivery and when the resident returned home at 5 pm.  If you have any information about this theft or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22017007

Warrant

Forty five year old Michelle Caron was arrested Wednesday on Talbot Street.  Special Constables with the Community Resource Unit recognized Caron as being wanted on a warrant.  The bench warrant was issued after she failed to attend her scheduled court date to answer to Assault and Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.  She was taken into custody without incident for processing and released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^17012

Warrant

Fifty one year old Kimberly Piercy was arrested Thursday on Princess Ave.  Piercy approached Officers to turn herself in on five outstanding bench warrants. The warrants were issued after she failed to attend her scheduled court date to answer to several theft, assault, drug possession, mischief and breach charges.  She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  She was held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^17056

Shoplift

A fifty eight year old woman from Port Stanley was arrested Thursday after attempting to steal $600 worth of merchandise from the Real Canadian Superstore.  Loss Prevention Officers contacted police after observing the woman hide several items in a reusable shopping bags.  The woman went through checkout only paying less than $15 for a few items before attempting to leave the store.  She was taken into custody by Loss Prevention without incident and charged by police with Theft Under $5000.  She was later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^17057

Arrest

A thirty one year old St. Thomas man was arrested Thursday for  breaching his court ordered release conditions.   The man is currently bound by an order  not to possess or use any computer or any other device that has access to the internet or any other digital network.  He was alleged to have breached this condition by using his social media accounts.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing and held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^17058

Warrant

A forty year old male of no fixed address was arrested Thursday after he turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Building.  A warrant for his arrest for the purpose of DNA collection had been issued.  He was taken into custody without incident for processing and later released.  ^17060

Warrant

A thirty six year old St. Thomas woman was arrested Thursday after she turned herself in at the Colin McGregor Building.  A bench warrant was issued for her arrest after she failed to attend her scheduled court date to answer to charges of driving while prohibited.  She was taken into custody without incident for processing and alter released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^17061

Theft

Police are investigating after a Purolator parcel was claimed at a local pick up centre by someone posing as the rightful owner of the parcel.  When the actual owner showed up they discovered the package had already been turned over to an unknown person.  ^17075

Vehicle Entry

Arrest

Thirty five year old Charles Crafts of no fixed address was arrested by Officers on Community Patrol Thursday night after he was alleged to have pointed a firearm at another male on the front lawn of a homeless shelter on Princess Avenue.  Crafts was taken into custody and a BB gun was seized from his waist band.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was charged with Breach of Probation x3, Fail to Comply with Firearm Prohibition x3, Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Use Firearm while committing an Offence, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Pointing a Firearm.  He was held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^17074

Impaired

A forty one year old Sparta man was arrested and charged with impaired driving during a traffic stop Thursday night.  Officers on Community Patrol suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol.  He failed a roadside screening and was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor Building where further breath samples indicated he had over the legal limit of alcohol in his system.  He was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^17100
