Over the Thanksgiving weekend the St. Thomas Police Service participated in Operation Impact which is a public awareness campaign aiming at educating drivers and keeping our roads safe. During the campaign a total of 22 charges were laid.
The results of Operation Impact 2021 are as follows;
Speeding – 7
Careless Driving – 3
Drive while under suspension – 3
Fail to remain at the scene of an accident HTA – 2
Traffic Light offences – 2
Impaired/Over 80 – 1
Cell phone – 1
Adult fail to properly wear seatbelt – 2
Child not properly secured with seatbelt – 1
