Mischief

Theft

A forty seven year old woman of no fixed address is wanted by police after she was identified as the suspect recorded on store security video at a grocery store on Talbot Street filling a reusable shopping bag with items and leaving without making any attempt to pay.  She is wanted for Theft Under $5000. ^12684

Theft

A forty two year old Kevin Ashford of no fixed address was arrested Thursday as he tried to leave a grocery store with a bag full of stolen meat.  Loss Prevention Officers contacted Police after observing the male concealing products inside the store.  Officers arrived just as Ashford was leaving the store and took him into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was charged with Theft Under $5000 and two counts Breach of Release.  He was held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^12685

Warrant

A fifty two year old woman of no fixed address was arrested Thursday afternoon.  Officers on Community Patrol responded to a report of a suspicious person on Centre Street.  They located the woman matching the description and discovered she was wanted on a warrant.  The bench warrant was issued after the woman failed to attend her scheduled court date to answer to several assault charges.  She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building where she was held for a bail court appearance. ^12692

Warrant

A thirty seven year old man of no fixed address was arrested Thursday afternoon.  Officers on Community Patrol responded to a report of a suspicious male on Highbury Ave. and recognized the man as being wanted on a warrant.  The bench warrant was issued after the man failed to attend his scheduled court date to answer to charges of Mischief and Theft.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^12693

Theft Over $5000

A fifty year old woman and a thirty six year old man both of no fixed address were arrested Thursday night during a traffic stop on Centre Street.  The vehicle they were driving had been reported stolen from the laneway of a home on Alexandria Ave.  The owner was known to the female and the keys had been taken without consent during a visit to the residence.  The couple were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building.   The woman was charged with Theft Over $5000 and the man was charge with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and two counts Drive While Under Suspension.  They were both later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^12696

Mischief

Damage to the trim, side panel and tire rim on the rear passenger side of a vehicle has been reported to police.  It is unknown where the damage occurred as the vehicle had been parked  in several parking lots the previous night and throughout the following day.  If you have any information about his damage please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22012711

Breach

Thirty eight year old Jeremy Leblanc was arrested Thursday night after responded to a report of suspicious people on the roof of a building on Talbot Street.  Officers on Community Patrol located the individuals and discovered Leblanc was breaching his release conditions by associating/communicating with a person he is currently prohibited from.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with Breach of Release x3 and later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^12720
