Media Release – Thursday August 4, 2022

Arson

On the 3rd of August the St. Thomas Police began an Arson investigation into a suspicious fire to an abandoned building on Walnut St.  Through investigation, canvassing the neighbourhood, and reviewing nearby video – Officers were able to identify 38 year old Joseph Penfound as being responsible.  The building, which was already scheduled to be demolished, has since been torn down.  Fortunately there were no injuries sustained as a result of the fire.

Theft of Bicycles

Police are investigating after a Hybrid Trek bicycle, and a black customized motorized bicycle were stolen from a residence on Walnut St.  One of the bicycles was on the front porch, while the other was in the rear yard.  If you have any information about this theft or know the whereabouts of the bike please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers Refer to case # ST22012166

Break and Enter

Theft of bicycle

Break and Enter
