Break and Enter

On August 8th, 2021 in the early morning hours officers responded to a Talbot Street apartment building where a disturbance had taken place.  Through investigation it was determined two separate break and enters had happened.  During the initial break and enter; property of the victim had been stolen.  During the second break and enter a male tried to force his way through the door of the residence.  When confronted by the home owner the male spat on them.  The male, 31 year old William Cody Adams, was later arrested and charged with 2 counts of Break and Enter, 2 counts of failing to comply with probation and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.  Adams was subsequently transported to the Colin McGregor Justice building where he was held for court.  A search warrant was conducted where a number of items from the break and enter were recovered.  Adams was later released from custody after being placed on a release order by the Ontario Court of Justice.

Break and Enter

On August 7th, 2021 officers conducting a property check at a local business located a male standing just outside the fenced portion of the property.  The male was in possession of stolen copper wire and metal from the business.  When advised he was under arrest the male fled on foot.  The male was captured a short distance away by officers.  As a result; 48 year old Donald Cummings is charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and escaping lawful custody.  Cummings was placed on a release order and released from the Colin McGregor Justice building with a future court date.

Impaired Operation

A 27 year male was observed by a Security guard to be operating a vehicle in a Wellington Street parking lot and they believed the male was impaired by alcohol.  Officers attended the location where the male exhibited signs of impairment and subsequently registered a fail on the approved screening device.  The male was placed under arrest for impaired operation of a conveyance and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice building where further tests were conducted.  The male registered samples 1.5 times the legal limit and was charged with Operation of a conveyance while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration greater than 80mgs.  The male was later released from custody with a future court date and his driver’s licence has been suspended.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

A 20 year old male is currently wanted in relation to investigation where he is alleged to have contacted his former partner while on a release order prohibiting any contact or communication with them.  As a result; a warrant application for the arrest of the male has been submitted.

Warrant Arrest

31 year old, Anthony James Mizon, turned himself in to the St. Thomas Police Service on an outstanding warrant in relation to possession of property obtained by crime.  Mizon was subsequently released with a future court date.

Stolen Licence Plates

Sometime over the evening of August 7th, 2021 Ontario licence plate #AMTB 423 were stolen off a vehicle parked at an East Street home.  Anyone with information in relation to the theft is asked to contact the St. Thomas Police Service.  Inc# ST21013214

Vehicle Entry

A vehicle in the downtown core was entered sometime over the night of August 7th, 2021.  While no property is believed to have been stolen; residents are reminded to remove any valuables from their vehicles and ensure they are locked to prevent similar type occurrences.

Use of Stolen Credit Cards

29 year old Ashley Proulx was arrested and charged in relation to investigation where a credit was stolen and used to purchase a number of goods.  Proulx was subsequently charged with 3 counts of use of a stolen credit card, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of crystal methamphetamine.  Proulx was released from custody with a future court date.
