Friday June 24:

The STPS Traffic Unit in partnership with front-line patrol officers are working on a project focusing on e-bikes. The goal is to educate the public and enforce the laws pertaining to the operation of e-bikes. On Friday June 24, 2022 the STPS Traffic Unit observed the driver of an e-bike not wearing a helmet. A traffic stop was conducted and further investigation revealed the driver is a Prohibited Driver. The 53 year old male driver is charged with Operation while Prohibited and Failing to Wear Proper Helmet on Power Assisted Bicycle. ^9632

Police are investigating after a break and enter to a shed at the rear of a property on Southwick St. The incident occurred sometime overnight on June 23rd into June 24th. A bicycle attachment for a stroller is missing. Police are investigating a vehicle entry that occurred at 2:29am on Friday June 24th. The suspect was captured on video walking up a driveway on Daugharty Dr and entering an unlocked work van. The suspect left on foot after taking a reflective work vest and gas card. Police received two other reports of unlocked vehicles being entered and property stolen from inside. These incidents occurred sometime over the last week. Please remember to lock your vehicle and to take all valuables inside. ^9643/9653

Police are investigating a report of an unknown male that entered a home on Riverbank Dr. Shortly before 10pm on Friday June 24th, the unknown male entered through an unlocked side door. A female resident was home and was alerted by her dog. She located the intruder standing inside the main entrance and directed him to leave. The male left without incident. The male is described as very tall, skinny, and wearing dark clothing. Saturday June 25:

At approximately 2am on Saturday June 25th, a male party was sprayed with bear mace at a local bar. The victim reported having a conversation with the two suspects prior to the assault. The victim declined medical assistance and did not support charges being laid on either suspect. ^9674

Sometime between 6pm on Saturday June 25th and 11:40am on Sunday June 26th, an unknown person damaged a security gate at a local business on Talbot St. No entry was made. Sunday June 26:

On Sunday June 26th, an alert citizen contacted police to report a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Chestnut St. Police attended and confirmed the Dodge Ram pick-up truck was stolen and was equipped with altered licence plates. The truck was transported to the Colin McGregor building to be processed by the Forensic Identification Unit. A 38 year old London man is wanted after he sexually assaulted a 10 year old child during a visit to the family’s St. Thomas home. The child disclosed the assault to her parents who attended the police station to report the incident. As a result of the investigation, the male is wanted and to be charged with Sexual Interference and Sexual Assault. ^9785

At approximately 4am on Sunday June 26th, a male party stole a planter box and flowers from the front porch of a residence on Flora St. The male party was captured on video scoping out the property several times before committing the theft. He is described as wearing dark blue shorts, a dark coloured t-shirt, white shoes, and a white hat. He was riding a mountain bike with a rear fender. See the attached photo.
