Media Release for Monday August 15, 2022

Police are looking for suspects after a south end home had a garage broken into at approximately 3am on August 14th. A vehicle on the property was also entered and a large amount of power tools were taken. ^12875

During the early morning hours of August 1st, a vehicle was entered on Ross St and a wallet was stolen. It was later learned that a debit card from inside the wallet had been used at several locations throughout the city. As a result of this investigation, a 19 year old St. Thomas man is wanted for Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Probation. ^12883

Police have recovered an abandoned bicycle and are seeking the owner. If this bike is yours please contact STPS S/Cst Scott Haayema at 519-631-1224. ^12897

On August 14th at approximately 4am a garage was broken into at a south end home. A lone male suspect used a tool to pry open the exterior garage door where he removed an electric scooter. During a canvass of the area by police, the scooter was recovered a short distance away. The investigation continues by members of the St. Thomas Police Service – Property Crime Unit. ^12865

During the overnight hours of August 14th, an unlocked vehicle was entered on St. Catharine St and a wallet taken from inside. The cards have since been used at numerous locations within the City. The investigation is continuing. ^12876
