Break & Enter

Sometimes between July 23rd and August 2nd suspects forced open the back door to a vacant home on Southwick St.  Stolen was some copper and breakers from the electrical panel.  Value of the theft is approximately $2,000.  Case # ST21012821

Found Bike

On August 2nd a citizen reported to Police that they found a bike on the pathway near Sugar Bush Rd and Foxtail Rd.  Found was a grey and purple Supercycle.  Case#ST21012822

Drugs

In the afternoon of August 2nd Officers on Community Patrol attended the area of Hiawatha St., north of Talbot St., after a citizen called in that there was a male who had what they believed to be a firearm in the waist of their jeans.  37 year old Joseph Penfound was found matching the description given by the caller and he was arrested without incident.  Police located a bag of suspected Crystal Meth on his person and he was charged for possessing this illegal drug.  No firearm was found in his possession.   Penfound was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing and was later released with a future court date.

Fraud

A St. Thomas couple had posted their vehicle for sale on Kijiji.  They sold it to a person out of province who sent a cheque paying for the vehicle and extra money they requested the seller to send to a agency that was going to drive the vehicle to them.  $3,480 was sent to the ‘delivery agency’ and the victims were later notified by their bank that the payment cheque was deemed ‘unpaid.’  Case #ST21012833

Theft

A citizen on Chestnut St. reported to Police that sometime overnight of August 1st suspects had stolen two patio cushions from the front porch of their home.  The cushions are blue with a red floral print.   Case#ST21012837

Vehicle Entry

At 12:45am on August 2nd a male suspect entered an unlocked vehicle on St. George St.  Stolen was a lighter, a red swiss army pocket knife and some loose change.  Video surveillance is being reviewed.  Case #ST21012838

Domestic Assault with a weapon

A 22 year old St. Thomas woman turned herself into Police on August 2nd in regards to two existing warrants for her arrest stemming from two separate domestic assaults.  One occurred on July 27th where she threw a glass jar at her ex partner, striking him in the forehead and the second incident was July 30th where she entered his apartment, assaulted him and damaged property inside.  As a result she is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, mischief and unlawfully in a dwelling.  She was arrested without incident and later released with a future court date.

Warrant Issued

On August 2nd City Police attended an address on Elm St. after 11pm to conduct a residence check on 39 year old Paul Devree.  Devree is currently bound by a Release Order and Probation Order where he must be in his residence daily between the hours of 11pm and 7am and Keep the peace and be of good behaviour.    He was not home when officers arrived and a warrant has been issued for him for the charges of Failure to comply with a Release Order and failure to comply with a Probation Order.
