Impaired Driver Arrested / Man charged with Failing to follow release conditions

Impaired Driver
The St. Thomas Police attempted to stop a Dodge Durango SUV near the downtown core of St. Thomas on the 18th of November 2018.  The vehicle failed to stop for police and was eventually stopped in the area of South Edgeware Road and Burwell Road. The vehicle came to a stop for a red light and was boxed in by several police cruisers.  An investigation was initiated resulting in a 54 year old Aylmer man being arrested for impaired driving, possession of open alcohol in the vehicle, failing to stop, and refusing to provide a breath sample when requested.  The vehicle was impounded and the man was later released with a court date for the 4th of December 2018 where he will appear in St. Thomas court to answer to the charges.

Breaching Conditions of Release
A 53 year old St. Thomas man was arrested on the 17th of November 2018, for failing to comply with conditions of his release.  His original charges stem from a domestic related incident.  The breach of conditions were related to contacting his former domestic partner.  As a result of the investigation the man was arrested and held in custody for a weekend court appearance.  He was remanded into custody to the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Center and is due back in St. Thomas court on the 19th of November 2018 for a bail hearing.
