Impaired Collision
A forty five year old St. Thomas woman was arrested early this morning after driving her vehicle into the back of a parked pick up truck. Police were called to the collision just before 2 am on Forest Avenue between First and Park Ave. The driver was transported to hospital by paramedics with minor injuries. Officers also attended at the hospital emergency department where they continued to investigate the collision. Breath samples taken from the woman indicated she had close to twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system. The woman was arrested at the hospital and taken into custody after she was medically cleared. Police transported the driver to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing. The woman was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. She was held until sober and later released on a Promise to Appear in court.
911 Call Leads to Arrest
A thirty three year old St. Thomas man was arrested last evening around 8 pm after STPS communications received a 911 call from a female asking for police. Officers tracked the cell phone back to an address on St. Catharine Street where they located the male and a twenty seven year old female. Police discovered the male was currently at large in the community released by the courts on two separate orders with several conditions specifically not to associate or communicate with the female. The male was taken into custody without incident. During processing officers seized a large amount of cannabis from the male. The man is on conditions not to consume or possess any intoxicating substances. As a result he was charged with three counts of Breach of Release Conditions and held for a court appearance
