Stolen Vehicle

A white Hyundai Elantra stolen from a residence in Shedden was located in St Thomas after the driver crashed into a tree near Highview Drive and Rickwood Place early Wednesday morning.  The driver fled the scene prior to Police arrival.  The had driver lost control on Highview Drive near Rickwood Place crashing through a garden and into a tree on the yard of a residence.  Witnesses report seeing a male running westbound on Rickwood shortly after the crash.  If you have any information about this incident please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www-stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22014785

Impaired Operation

A forty eight year old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with several impaired driving offences Wednesday morning after Officers on Community Patrol were called to a disturbance in a parking lot.  Police discovered the man was impaired and took him into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor to be examined by a Drug Recognition Expert Officer.  It was determined the man was impaired by drug.  During processing police seized a small amount of crystal methamphetamine, cannabis and several illicit pills. The driver was charged with Operation While Impaired-Drug, Drug Possession, Having Care or Control of a Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available and two counts Breach of Release Conditions.  The vehicle he was driving was towed and impounded for seven days.  The driver was later released on an Undertaking with Court Date. ^14789

Vehicle Entry

A vehicle parked in a community parking lot at 180 South Edgeware Road was entered sometime Tuesday overnight.  Nothing was reported missing but the interior had been rummaged through. Please remember to lock your vehicles and take valuables inside. ^14791

Warrant

Twenty eight year old Nicholas Wall was arrested Wednesday after Officers on Community Patrol recognized him as being wanted on a warrant.  The bench warrant was issued after he failed to attend his scheduled court date.  He was taken into custody without incident for processing and later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^14794

Warrant

Nineteen year old Nicolas Derbowka of no fixed address was arrested Wednesday after Officers on Community Patrol recognized him as being wanted on a warrant.  The bench warrant was issued after he failed to attend his scheduled court date.   He was taken into custody without incident for processing and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for court.  He was held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^14799

Warrant

A twenty two year old St. Thomas man was arrested Wednesday after he turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Building. A warrant was issued after he was alleged to have sexually assaulted a female.  He was taken into custody without incident for processing.  He was charged with one count of Sexual Assault and later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^14803

Theft

Break and Enter

Warrant

Thirty six year old Matthew Irwin of St. Thomas was arrested Wednesday.  Officers on Community Patrol recognized Irwin as being wanted on a warrant.  The warrant was issued after he was alleged to have breached his release conditions.  He was taken into custody without incident for processing and later release on an Appearance Notice for court. ^14814

Theft

Theft

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere

Police conducted a RIDE check Wednesday night in the city.  Approximately 270 drivers were spoken to.  One road side screening for alcohol was conducted. The driver registering a pass.  No infractions were found. ^14839
