E-bike Driver arrested for Impaired

In the early morning hours of the 22nd of September 2018, the St. Thomas Police observed a 28-year old man from St. Thomas operating an e-bike in an erratic manner in the downtown core.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol.  A roadside screening device was administered and resulted in a fail. The man was arrested and transported to the St. Thomas Police Service for further testing.  The man conducted further testing which resulted in police obtaining blood alcohol readings of more than twice the legal limit.  The man was charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.  He now faces an October court date to answer to the charges.
