Domestic
A thirty eight year old woman was arrested yesterday on domestic related charges. Police were called to a residence on Smith Avenue around 2 pm in the afternoon after a concerned citizen saw a male and female in a heated argument that turned physical. The woman is alleged to have punched and shoved her fifty four year old boyfriend before breaking a window to his apartment. The man was not injured during the incident. As a result the woman is charged with one count of Assault and one count of Mischief. She was released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
Officer Assaulted
Police were called to an Inkerman Street residence last evening around 8:30 pm to remove a thirty five year old St. Thomas woman who refused to leave. As officers attempted to arrest the female, she began to fight resulting in one officer being punched and scratched. The woman was eventually taken into custody without further incident. As a result the woman is now charged with one count of Trespassing, one count of Assault Police and one count of Possession of Drugs after Methamphetamine was located on her during a search. The woman was held in custody overnight at the Colin McGregor Justice Building for court in the morning.
Break and Enter
An alert citizen called 911 last night around 11:30 pm after hearing glass smash at an empty warehouse on Woodworth Avenue. As officers arrived they observed three suspects running from the building. A foot chase ensued and two of the suspects were arrested by police while the third got away. As a result a nineteen year old St. Thomas man is charged with one count of Break and Enter, an eighteen year old St. Thomas man is charged with one count of Break and Enter and one count of Possession of Break and Enter Tools. Both men were held in custody overnight at the Colin McGregor Justice Building for court. The third suspect has been identified as a seventeen year old male who is now wanted on a warrant for Break and Enter. His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
