Break and Enter

A detached garage located behind a home on Wellington Street near Southwick was broken into Sunday night.  A Stihl chainsaw was taken from the garage.  The suspect carried the saw to the house next door and placed in on the lawn while attempting to break into a vehicle parked in the lane way.  The suspect was scared off, abandoning the chain saw.  Police were able to return the chainsaw to the rightful owner and continue to look for the suspect.  He is described as a heavier set male, medium height with short light brown hair.  He was wearing a black coat.  If you have any information about this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22018839
