Disobey School Bus / Foot Chase / Looking to ID Suspects

Suspended Driver
A thirty five year old St. Thomas man was charged with several driving offences yesterday morning around 9 am during a traffic stop on Fairview Ave.  Police pulled the driver over after discovering the licence plates on the car were not registered to that particular vehicle being driven.  The driver was also currently suspended by MTO.  As a result the man was charged Drive While Suspended, Use Unauthorized Plates, No insurance, No Permit and No Validation.  The licence plates were seized and the vehicle was towed from the scene.  The driver was issued an Appearance Notice for court.
Disobey School Bus
Police have charged a sixty year old St. Thomas man after he failed to stop for a school bus yesterday morning.  The bus was stopped southbound on St. Catharines Street loading students when the cab the man was driving made a right hand turn from Kains Street onto St. Catharines passing through the activated lights and stop bar.  The school bus driver recorded the licence plate and contacted police.  Officer were able to track down the driver and fined him $490 and six demerit points.
Theft

Arrest
A thirty year old London man was arrested late last night around 11:30 pm on St. Catharines Street after a short foot chase with police.  The incident began when officers observed stolen licence plates attached to a vehicle parked on the street.  Police attempted to take the driver into custody as he returned to the vehicle a short time later however he fled from officers.  Officers tracked the man running through a few backyards eventually taking him into custody.  The man was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing where he provided false identification.  Twenty two grams of Crystal Methamphetamine and five hundred dollars cash was seized from the man and officers located bolt cutters and pry bars in his car.  Police discovered the man was wanted on warrants from a few other jurisdictions once his true identity was confirmed.   He is charged one count Possession of Stolen Property, one count Possession of Break and Enter Tools, one count Escape Lawful Custody, one count Resist Arrest, one count Obstruct Police, one count Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and six counts Breach of Release Conditions.  He was held in custody for court.
Theft
