Drugs
The Street Crimes Unit of the St. Thomas Police Service have arrested two drug traffickers, seized more than five thousand dollars worth of illegal drugs and a large amount of cash. STPS-SCU executed a search warrant yesterday evening around 7 pm at an apartment on Forest Ave. The two residents, fifty year old Timothy Dowdle and his thirty seven year old female companion Christine Hoffman were arrested for dealing illegal Fentanyl, Hydromorphone and Oxycodone. Dowdle and Hoffman have both been charged with three counts each of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and were held in cells overnight to appear in court this morning.
Theft
Officers have arrested a twenty six year old male wanted for theft under five thousand dollars after he tried to steal one hundred dollars worth of meat from the Real Canadian Superstore on Monday evening. The man was observed by staff hiding meat in a duffle bag. Employees confronted the male as he attempted to leave the store without paying for the meat. The man dropped the bag and fled on a bicycle. The entire incident was captured on security video and police were able to identify the suspect. He was located Thursday night around 6 pm on Talbot Street and was taken into custody and charged.
Sexual Assault
The Criminal Investigations Branch of the St. Thomas Police Service have charged a thirty one year old male with sexual assault.
Mischief
Police are asking for assistance from the public after a man’s car was damaged. A silver Ford Lincoln had corrosive liquid poured down it’s passenger side causing the paint to blister and peel. The exact time of the incident in not know but is believed to have happened between Monday January 22nd and Thursday January 25th. The vehicle may have been parked in the lot of 800 Talbot Street or on Glanworth Ave at the time of the incident. Damage is estimated at five thousand dollars.
