Break and Enter

Police are investigating after two males were seen breaking into a trailer on the construction site of a new building on Wellington Street.  Two males were observed leaving the side on bicycles.  Both were described as wearing dark clothing.  Officers on Community Patrol discovered the trailer door open however it is unknown at this time what if anything is missing.  If you have any information about this break and enter or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22019163

Vehicle Entry

A vehicle parked in the lane way of a home on Forest Ave near Third was entered sometime over the weekend.  Some bags containing personal items and a set of air pods were reported stolen.  The bags were located a short distance away.  Please remember to lock your vehicle and take valuables inside. ^19165

A second vehicle parked in the lane way of a house on Forest Ave just east of Third was also entered.  A phone cable was reported missing.  ^19167

Warrant

A forty nine year old St. Thomas man was arrested early Sunday morning during a traffic stop.  Officers on Community Patrol had pulled the driver over for a traffic violation and discovered he was wanted on a warrant.  The warrant was issued after the driver was identified as the suspect recorded on store security video stealing a cart full of merchandise from Walmart.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building were he was charged with one count Theft Under $5000 and later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^19160

Narcan Administered

Officers on Community Patrol administered Narcan to an unconscious male Sunday night after receiving a 911 call of a male in medical distress.  Police were first on scene to administer the Narcan and the man regained consciousness.  He was transported to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital by ambulance as a precaution. ^19170

Assault

Police are investigating after a thirty two year old man of no fixed address was assaulted during a disturbance.  Four suspects that were known to the victim are alleged to have attacked him during an argument early Sunday morning.  He sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. ^19172

Warrant

Forty two year old Kevin Ashford of no fixed address was arrested Sunday morning.  Officers on Community Patrol recognized him as being wanted on a warrant.  The warrant was issued after he was identified as the suspect recorded on store security shoplifting items on two separate occasions.  He was taken into custody following a short foot chase.  Ashford was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where he was charged with Theft Under $5000 x2 and Breach of Release.  He was held in custody for a bail court appearance. ^19173

Warrant

Thirty four year old Christopher Mark Mason of St. Thomas is wanted by police after he was identified as the suspect recorded on store security video walking out of Marks Work Warehouse with approximately $1000 in stolen merchandise.  If you see Mason or know his whereabouts please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22019182

Theft

Police are investigating after a suspicious person was seen walking up laneways between houses on Gladstone Ave early Sunday morning.  The same person was seen a short time later pushing a baby stroller down the street.  The suspect is described as female wearing a long black coat.  If you have any information about this theft or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22019192

Arrest

A seventeen year old was arrested Sunday after causing a disturbance at the Elgin Centre.  The teen was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  They were charged with two counts Breach of Release after ignoring conditions to not attend the Elgin Centre and not to consume alcohol.  The youth was later released into the custody of an adult on an Undertaking with youth court date. ^19197

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere

St. Thomas Police conducted a RIDE check Sunday evening.  Several drivers were spoken to and no infractions were found.
