Break and Enter/Assault with a weapon/Shoplift/Warrants

Break and Enter:

On the 20th of December 2020 shortly after 5 am the St Thomas Police Service were notified by a security company of two parties being observed on camera in the secure compound of a north end business. Police attended the area and located a male and female leaving the compound under the fence with stolen equipment. A 28 year old female resident of St Thomas was arrested and charged with break and enter and possession of break and enter tools. This female was later released on an undertaking given to an officer in charge. 27 year old Justin Dobson of St Thomas was also arrested and charged with break and enter, possession of break and enter instruments and four counts of breaches of various release orders. Dobson was held for weekend video court.

Domestic dispute:

On the evening of the 19th of December 2020 the St Thomas Police Service responded to a north end residence for reports of a domestic dispute in progress between a male and female. The dispute became heated and the female involved picked up a knife and damaged property and electronics in the home that belonged to her male partner. The female party then assaulted her partner with the knife causing a minor injury. The 26 year old St Thomas resident was arrested and transported to cells. The female party was later released on and undertaking given to an officer in charge – charged with mischief to property, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.

Shoplifting:

On the 19th of December 2020 a north end business contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report a female shoplifter had left the store without paying for Christmas decorations secreted beneath her coat. Officers attended and reviewed video footage to confirm the theft and were able to identify the female shoplifter. A 43 year old St Thomas woman is currently wanted for theft under $5000.00

Warrants:

On the 19th of December 2020 a concerned citizen contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report observing a male party inside a local restaurant that was known to be wanted for breaching conditions of his probation. The St Thomas Police Service attended and located said male who was subsequently arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant. The 29 year old St Thomas resident was later released with a future court date.
