Breach /Recovered Stolen Vehicle / Bike Theft / Robbery / Mischief / Warrant


On the morning of September 3rd police were called to the area of Owaissa and Hiawatha St. to the report of an altercation.  Upon arrival police located one man nearby who was suffering from a mental health crisis.  Police apprehended the man for safety reasons.  Police located a single round of .22 calibre ammunition in his pants pocket.   The ammunition was seized and the man was transported to Elgin General Hospital under the Mental Health Act.  Investigation revealed the man was on two separate court orders with conditions not to be in possession of weapons, firearms or ammunition.  The 33 year old St. Thomas man was charged accordingly.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

On September 3rd at approximately 1:45 pm police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle on Hamilton St.  Upon arrival police located a white Hyuandi Elantra in the rear parking lot of 19 Hamilton St.   Investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen to London Police where the owner resided.  Anyone with information is asked to call STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.  Refer to case ST20014995

Stolen Bike

Police are looking for assistance after a bike was stolen from a residence on Lawrence Ave.  Sometime between 3:00 am and 11:00 am on September 2nd unknown person(s) stole a 21 speed “Trek” mountain bike.  The bike has a black and blue frame and bears the serial number WTU023C5962H .  Contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if you have any information.  Refer to case ST20015006


A 25 year old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after an incident that occurred at approximately 5:30 pm on September 3rd.  The victim and the suspect who were known to one another got into an argument over an outstanding debt.  The suspect brandished a knife and punched the victim several times in the head.  The suspect swiped at the victim with the knife, causing a superficial cut to his abdomen.  The suspect reached into the victim’s pocket and stole cash before fleeing.  A passerby called police and the victim was transported to hospital for treatment.  At 6:20 pm police located the suspect at a Talbot St. address and he was arrested without incident.  27 year old Dakota Shura stands charged with 1 count of Robbery contrary to section 343 of the Criminal Code.  Shura appeared in court and was remanded in custody.


On September 3rd at approximately 7:40 pm police responded to a report of a man smashing an e-bike with a wooden stick.  Upon arrival police located the suspect who was still on scene.  The 40 year old St. Thomas man was taken into custody and subsequently charged with 1 count of Mischief.


Forty one year old Lynda Hutt of London turned herself into police HQ on September 3rd.  She was wanted  by St. Thomas Police for Theft Under $5000.
