Assault
St. Thomas Police have arrested a forty five year old St. Thomas man after he assaulted a forty seven year old wheelchair bound man on Talbot Street near Ross Street yesterday around 2 pm. A concerned citizen called police after seeing a man elbow and slap a second man as he sat in his wheelchair. The suspect then left walking down Talbot Street. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the two men involved were brothers and the incident was a family dispute. Police located the suspect a short distance away. As a result the accused is now facing charges of one count of Assault and one count of Breach of Probation. He was released on a Promise To Appear in Court. No injuries were reported.
Warrant
A twenty two year old woman living in St. Thomas was arrested by Officers yesterday around 3 pm in the afternoon on Curtis Street. The woman was wanted on a warrant for Failing to Attend Court and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 from Oxford County O.P.P. The woman was held in custody at the Colin McGregor Justice Building and later transferred to O.P.P.
Arrest
A twenty six year old St. Thomas woman was arrested by officers at 10:30 pm last night on Talbot Street near Princess Avenue. The woman had been recorded on security video stealing a lighter from a convenience store earlier that same evening. Officers recognized her from the video and took her into custody without incident. As a result she is now charged with one count of Theft Under $5000, one count of Breach of Probation and one count of Drug Possession after Police located a small quantity of Methamphetamine during a search. The woman was later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
