Assault

Assault
The St. Thomas Police were called to a disturbance at a southeast residence at around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday May 30, 2018. When police arrived they found two intoxicated men out front of the residence arguing with each other. Investigation revealed that a 34 year old man had been assaulted by his 35 year old friend, resulting in a cut under the victims left eye. When the accused was advised that he was under arrest, he began to resist police in an attempt to get back into the house. Police were able to gain control of the 35 year old man and he was taken into custody. Once at the police station, the accused remained combative. While still handcuffed, he kicked backwards at an officer striking the officer in the leg. The accused is charged with Assault, Cause Disturbance, Resist Arrest, Assault Police, Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Probation. He was held in custody for a court appearance. The 34 year old victim of the assault was treated for minor injuries.
