Stolen Bike
Police are investigating after a red and grey Super Cycle mountain bike was stolen from outside the food bank located on Talbot Street near Mondamin yesterday around 10 am. The owner had rested the bike against the window of the building so he could keep an eye on it while he was inside the location. When he returned, the bike was gone. Arrests Made in Assault
Two people wanted in connection to an assault on a seventeen year old last Friday have been arrested. A seventeen year old wanted by St. Thomas Police attended the Colin McGregor Justice Building yesterday morning to turn themself in. The youth was taken into custody without incident and charged one count of Assault and later released into the custody of a parent on a Promise to Appear in Youth Court. The second suspect, an eighteen year old female was also taken into custody without incident after she attended the Colin McGregor Justice Building to turn herself in later the same day. The female was charged one count of Assault and later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
Warrant
A forty eight year old St. Thomas woman was arrested yesterday afternoon around 1 pm. Officers saw the woman riding her bike on Chestnut Street near Ross and recognized her as being wanted on a bench warrant. The woman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing. She was later released on a promise to appear in court. The warrant was issued after the woman failed to in court to answer to the charge of Leaving an Animal in Distress under the OSPCA Act.
Stolen Bike
Police are investigating after a blue and silver Trek mountain bike was stolen from behind a residence on Myrtle near Ross Street. The bike was locked to a fence behind the house at the time of the theft. The exact time and date of the theft is unknown but may have happened sometime during the last couple of weeks. Impaired
A twenty four year old Belmont woman was arrested last night around 8 pm during a traffic stop. Officers observed the woman driving and pulled her over on St. George Street after suspecting she was impaired. The driver registered a fail on the roadside alcohol screening device and was arrested. She was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for further testing where results indicated she had almost twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system. The woman was charged Operation While Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and released on a Promise to Appear in Court. A twenty four year old male passenger in the car at the time of the incident was also arrested after he became belligerent with officers. He was charged with one count of Obstructing Police and one count Breach of Release Conditions. He was also transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building and released with a court future court date.
Arrest
Forty five year old Chad Robinson of St. Thomas was arrested last night just after 10 pm on Eagle Street. Officers on patrol observed Robinson walking down the street and recognized him as breaching a court ordered release condition to obey a nightly curfew. Robinson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building to be held for court.
Arrest
Police arrested a thirty year old St. Thomas man early this morning just after midnight on Curtis Street. The man was wanted after his estranged common law girlfriend reported a domestic assault incident that occurred Friday. The man was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where he was charged two counts of Assault and one count Forcible Confinement. He was later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
Arrest
Police arrested a fifty four year old St. Thomas man early this morning around 3 am after an argument with his estranged girlfriend turned physical. The man is alleged to have struck the woman and urinated on her belongings. He was taken into custody without incident and charged one count Assault and one count Mischief to Property. He was later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
