Arrest

A thirty year old man of no fixed address was arrested Thursday afternoon on Princess Avenue.  Officers on the Downtown Beat Patrol Unit recognized the man as being wanted for Possession of Stolen Property.  He was taken into custody without incident for processing and later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^^18670

Arrest

A thirty four year old man of no fixed address was arrested Thursday night outside a homeless shelter on Princess Ave.  Officers on Community Patrol took the man into custody without incident after he was recorded on store security video stealing a bottle of high end liquor from the LCBO earlier in the day.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 and one count Breach of Release Conditions.  He was later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^18674

Theft

Forty two year old Kevin Ashford of no fixed address is wanted by police after he was identified as the suspect recorded on store security video stealing from Winners and Canadian Tire Thursday night.  Some of the property was recovered after police located it hidden in a wooded area behind Canadian Tire.  Ashford is wanted for two count Theft Under $5000 and two counts Breach of Probation. ^18685

Assault

Police are investigating after a youth was assaulted on Talbot Street Thursday around noon.  The youth was at the intersection of Talbot and Flora when six other youth approached punching and kicking the lone youth.  The only descriptor at this time is all six suspects were wearing school uniforms from St. Joseph’s High School.  No injuries were reported.  If you have any information about this assault please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22018687

Break & Enter

Police are investigating a break and enter into a sea crate storage unit located behind the Bibles for Missions Store on First Ave.  Suspects forced the crate open around 4 am Thursday morning and took several items from inside.  If you have any information about this break and enter or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22018690
