Arrest Made in Stolen Vehicle

Thirty three year old Raymond Riles of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with multiple vehicle thefts.  The investigation began Thursday morning around 7 am when a vehicle left idling was stolen from the lane way of a home on Scott Street.  A second vehicle that had been reported stolen to London Police was located by officers a short distance away.   Thanks to a coordinated effort with the London Police Service, the vehicle and the suspect were tracked down to a parking lot on Highbury Avenue.  Riles was taken into custody without incident.  Further investigation revealed Riles is the suspect for several vehicle thefts including a vehicle that was stolen last week from the parking lot of a daycare centre with the owners dog still in the backseat.   Raymond Riles is facing several charges including Theft Over $5000-Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Drive While Suspended and Breach of Release. ^2373

Police are looking to identify this suspect in connection to a break and enter to the office of an apartment building on Dunkirk Drive. Break and Enter

Police are investigating after a suspicious male was reported lurking around back yards and breaking into sheds and garages on Metcalfe Street Tuesday night.  The man is described as tall, thin wearing a camo pattern coat, hoodie carrying a red backpack.  Nothing is reported stolen at this time and a pry bar was located in one of the backyards.  If you have any information about this incident please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or submit a tip online at www.stthomascrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22002402

Collision

St. Thomas Police had the intersection of Highbury Avenue and Ron McNeil Line closed last night around 7 pm as they waited for tow trucks to clear away a three vehicle collision that occurred in the intersection.  One driver was taken to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital with minor injuries.   Conditions were very poor at the time of the collision and Officers would like to remind everyone to adjust their driving in inclement weather.  Slow down and leave lots of space between you and the car ahead.  ^2414

Domestic Assault

A forty one year old St. Thomas man is wanted on a warrant for domestic assault after his common law partner disclosed she was in a physically abusive relationship.  Officers on Community Patrol were dealing with the woman on an unrelated matter when she reported she had been assaulted on two separate occasions recently.  A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.  He is currently wanted for Domestic Assault x2 and Breach of Probation. ^2424
