Arrest

Thirty two year old Cody Ferris and thirty three year old Brooks Ferris both of no fixed address were arrested Monday on Talbot Street.  Officers on Community Patrol recognized the pair as being wanted by police after they were identified as the suspects selling items traced back to a break and enter.  They were taken into custody without incident for processing and charged with Trafficking Stolen Property.  Both men were later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^15180

Impaired Driving

A thirty three year old London woman was arrested Monday morning around 11:30 am during a traffic stop on Talbot Street.  After speaking with the driver, Officers suspected she was impaired and administered a road side screening for alcohol.  The driver registered a fail and was taken into custody without incident.  She was transported to the Colin McGregor Building for further testing.  Breath samples taken indicated she had two and a half times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.  She was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and later released on an Undertaking with court date.  Her vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.  ^15174

Attempt Vehicle Theft

Assault

Police are investigating an assault in the downtown over the weekend.  Two men were confronted by a group of males in a parking lot at Talbot and Princess Ave after leaving a bar around 1:45 am. Warrant

A thirty one year old male of no fixed address wanted on a warrant by the St. Thomas Police Service was arrested in London by London Police.  Officers were dealing with the man on an unrelated matter when they discovered he was wanted.  A bench warrant was issued after he failed to attend his scheduled court date to answer to several theft and fraud related charges.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^15222

Arson

Police are investigating after a fire was set in a dumpster located behind the Shoppers Drug Mart at 410 Talbot Street early Monday morning around 4 am.  St. Thomas Fire Department attended to put out the flames.  A second fire was extinguished after a pile of scrap lumber was lit on Hincks Street just outside a building under renovations.  If you have any information about these incidents or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22015228
