A busy Friday continues into the night

On Friday May 11th, 2018 the St.Thomas Police attended a local factory in regard to a disgruntled employee who had pulled a fire alarm. The evacuation of a portion of the factory caused it to be shut down, which ended up costing the company in excess of $200,000 in lost production. A 23 year old is to be charged with Mischief Exceeding $5000 and False Alarm of Fire.
On Friday May 11th, 2018 the St. Thomas Police were alerted to a local store by Loss Prevention, as they observed a customer who had been on conditions not to attend that location. Needless to say, police arrested a 28 year old male for Breach of Probation x2. Subsequent to his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and an opened knife concealed in a front pocked even after being on conditions not to possess a weapon.
On Friday May 11th, 2018, the St. Thomas Police attended local grocery store after staff reported theft of cat food. Subsequently, a 22 year old female was arrested for Theft not exceeding $5000 and Breach Probation x2.
On Friday May 11th the St. Thomas Police responded to a family dispute where a mother was assaulted by her child’s girl friend. The suspect fled prior to police arrival and a warrant is being sought for one count of assault.
Early Saturday morning on May 12th, the St. Thomas Police responded to a report of a person going through vehicles in a southwest neighbourhood. Police located a 28 year old male in the area who was responsible. He was arrested and charged with Trespass by Night, Theft not exceeding $5000, Breach of Probation and Possession of Break-in Instruments. Police have been slowly receiving further calls in regard to vehicle and shed entries in that area. It is requested that you contact police should you find your vehicle or out building entered throughout the night. It is again a reminder to remove your valuables and lock your vehicle and secure easily accessible out buildings.
Further; in the early morning of Saturday May 12th, St. Thomas Police responded to an alarm call at a downtown business and discovered a break and enter had occurred. An undetermined amount of items had been stolen from the business. The is the 3rd similar occurrence in the downtown core over the last 3 weeks.
